name to any other person at this house nor to any one in the

Chinese quarter as far as I can discover and he is not regis-

tered here under the Aliens Restriction Order in that name as

I cannot find any trace of him at the Alien Registration Office.

The fact that WON TIP has, for the time being, obtained a

suspension of the Deportation Order made against him on 19th

July 1916 and also the fact that he has, at other times, been

successful in winning appeals against Police Court convictions

has placed him in the position of a hero among his compatriots

in this city and it has had, from a police point of view, a bad

effect in the Chinese district.

In my opinion the persons who swore the affidavits for HON

IP are unreliable and no credence can be placed in their sworn

statements.

TON TIP's wife, a natural born British Subject, is now

advanced in pregnancy, but I would suggest that, following her A confinement, that another Deportation Order should be applied

for against him.

first cousin to WON TIP of 14, Pitt Street, Liverpool and I have

known him since childhood. His mother was my mother's sister.

Her name was WON CHAN SHEE and my mother's name was YU CHAN SHER

His mother and my mother were born in the district of NAM-TOW in

the Province of KWONG-TUNG. WON TIP'S father was born in UANG

TAU, FONG SAI HEUNG, SAN ON, China. His father is dead and I

can recollect his name and his mother is also dead but I cannot

recollect the year they died. My mother, who is dead twenty

seven years ago, told me before she died, that WON TIP was born

in HONG KONG and my father, who was named YU HEE GOM and died

WON TIP has never told me thirty years ago, told me the same.

he was born in HONG KONG. I went to school at NAM TOW and YON TIP

went to school at SAI HEUNG. This is about three miles from NAM

now.

This is where I first knew WON TIP and he was then about

six or seven years of age. I remained in NAM TOW until I was about

thirteen years of age. I then went to HONG KNOG to look for work

and remained there for four years. I then went to sea as a trimmer

for two years.

I then went to SHANG HAI where I worked for two

years in a ship building yard. I then removed the FOOK CHOW and

got employment as an engineer. I remained there for eight years,

returned to SHANG HAI and remained there for six months.

I then obtained a berth as a fireman on the Blue Funnel Line

and I have been sailing on their ships ever since up to three

years ago when I settled in Birkenhead.
